Home Viewers Won't Miss a Single Float, Band or Equestrian Unit
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (November 20,2006) -Star Wars themed floats, high-stepping horses and the best marching bands from around the country will highlight HGTV's live coverage of the 118th Tournament of Roses Parade@. HGTV will once again give viewers the best seat in the house for America's premiere New Year's celebration with Rose Parade 2007, with in-depth and uninterrupted coverage of every float, equestrian unit and marching band on Monday, January 1,2007 at 11:00 a.m. ET /8:00 a.m. PT.
Themed "Our Good Nature," and featuring Star War's creator George Lucas as Grand Marshal, this year's parade will cover the legendary five-and-a-halfmile parade route down Colorado Boulevard in Pasadena, California, and promises to be the best ever. HGTV's comprehensive coverage will include exclusive special appearances by Eric Stomer host of HGTV's Over Your Head, and actor Ed Begely, Jr. with wife Rachelle Carson, stars of Living with Ed, which will premiere on the network immediately following the parade.
Hosts include HGTV gardening expert Paul James, veteran television producer/host Robb Weller and Karen McAloon, host of the popular HGTV series Design Remix. Each will provide their own knowledgeable and sometimes quirky perspective about the parade' s unique floral floats.
New this year will be a "coming up in the parade" feature by HGTV's Chi-Lan Lieu (I Want That! Tech Toys) whose on-the-street location will inform viewers at home about when their favorite float will appear.

Complementing the network's television coverage, http://www.HGTV.com will offer viewers highlights of the entire ll8th Tournament of Roses Parade online, including in- depth details of unusual materials, the parade route, every float, band and equestrian unit along with parade history, video clips and interesting trivia about the Tournament of Roses.
The first Tournament of Roses was staged in 1890 by members of Pasadena's Valley Hunt Club, in an effort to showcase California's mild winter weather. More than 2,000 residents turned out on New Year's Day to watch the parade of bicycles and carriages covered with home-grown flowers, followed by foot races, polo matches and tug-of-war games. Today, millions of New Year's revelers around the world gather to watch the pageantry and celebrate the tradition of the Tournament of Roses.
